The University of Canterbury Robotics Club (UC Robotics) is a club that welcomes all students in the Christchurch area with a passionate interest in robotics. Our club was established in 2017 and we currently have 55 members.

Our current focus is the VEX Robotics Competition (VRC). Earlier in April 2018, UC Robotics qualified for and sent a team to compete in the university division of the VEX Robotics World (VEX U) held in Louisville, Kentucky. As New Zealand representative, our robotics team received the Sportsmanship award, with our endeavours continuing to qualify and compete at the Vex World Championship in 2019.

This year, we have also delved into a new initiative - UCFR (UCan Fight Robots). Our goal is to equip university and high school students with resources in order to encourage them to build and compete their robots in the very popular format of combat robotics.
